MEGA YOUTH BUSINESS BREAKFAST ENGAGEMENT EMPOWERS NKANGALA YOUTH ENTREPRENEURS
The Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency (MEGA) successfully hosted the Youth Business Breakfast Engagement at the Botleng N12 Community Hall in Victor Khanye Local Municipality, bringing together young entrepreneurs, business owners, government stakeholders, and development partners under the theme: “Elevating Youth Enterprise for Economic Excellence.”
The engagement formed part of MEGA’s ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for young people by providing access to funding information, enterprise development support, investment opportunities, and strategic partnerships that contribute to sustainable economic growth and job creation in Mpumalanga.
Young entrepreneurs from across the Nkangala District Municipality participated enthusiastically, engaging directly with MEGA leadership, partner institutions, and industry experts. The platform enabled participants to gain valuable insights into available funding mechanisms, business development programmes, investment support, compliance requirements, and market access opportunities.
The programme featured presentations and panel discussions from MEGA and its strategic partners, including representatives from government and financial institutions, who outlined a range of products and services designed to support the growth and sustainability of youth-owned enterprises. Robust discussions allowed participants to raise concerns, seek clarity, and receive practical guidance directly from decision-makers.
A key highlight of the event was an inspirational testimony by MEGA funding beneficiary Mr Sizwe Mtsali, who shared his entrepreneurial journey and demonstrated the transformative
impact of MEGA’s support in growing and sustaining his business. His story served as a powerful example of how targeted interventions and access to funding can unlock entrepreneurial potential and contribute to local economic development.
The event also featured an exciting Business Pitch Competition, where aspiring entrepreneurs showcased innovative business ideas before a panel of judges. Three young entrepreneurs emerged as winners and were awarded tablets to support their business operations, innovation, and digital growth.
MEGA Board Members Ms. Noxolo Oyiya and Mr. Zwelo Masilela delivered inspiring messages that underscored the importance of entrepreneurship as a catalyst for economic growth and job creation. Both speakers encouraged young people to take advantage of the funding, business development and investment opportunities available through government and development institutions, while emphasizing the critical role of youth-led enterprises in driving inclusive economic development across the province
MEGA extends its sincere appreciation to the youth of Nkangala for their enthusiastic participation and commitment to building sustainable businesses that contribute to economic development and employment creation.
The Youth Business Breakfast Engagement Roadshow now moves to the Gert Sibande District Municipality, where young entrepreneurs are invited to attend the next session scheduled for:
